Chinese Classical Prose
Immediately after the invention of Chinese characters, our ancients began to use this beautiful language to compose countless ever-lasting glamorous writings. As a part of world culture treasure, these works are still being widely read now. This, I think, can also serve as a reason that China is one of the four Ancients.

The ancient prose ranges over extensive subjects from people's daily life, their ideas on living, socialization, and politics to personal feelings, comments or description on certain event, and morals. Many of them are still heuristic to us.
